Aaron Nola allowed six earned runs and walked three batters in 3 2/3 innings against the Pirates on Friday.

Ugly. Nola has now given up five or more earned runs in three of his last five starts. Both Brandon Lowe and Marcell Ozuna took him out and he left the Phillies in a 6-0 hole. The average fastball velocity is sitting near 92 mph and all eight of his hard-hit balls allowed came against his four-seamer, sinker, and cutter. He had a 6.01 ERA in 17 starts in 2025 with a 1.35 WHIP. He has a 5.91 ERA in nine starts in 2026 with a 1.55 WHIP. It'd be hard to trust him against the Reds next week.
