Francisco Alvarez, 24-year-old Mets catcher, suffered a right knee meniscus tear on May 13, 2026, while fouling off a pitch in the sixth inning against the Tigers. MRI imaging confirmed the injury, and he was placed on the 10-day injured list with an expected recovery timeline of 6-8 weeks (late June to early July return).
