Scouting Report
Updated May 19, 2026
Maverick Handley, 28-year-old catcher, was called up from Double-A Chesapeake on May 15, 2026 as a taxi squad replacement when the Orioles placed Dylan Beavers on the 10-day IL with an oblique strain. Handley appeared in limited action during his brief stint with Baltimore, striking out in his lone plate appearance. He was optioned back to Triple-A Norfolk on May 18 to make room for Jackson Holliday's return, and was subsequently designated for assignment on May 19 when the Orioles selected Albert Suarez's contract. The move cleared a 40-man roster spot for Suarez.

- - Designated for assignment, losing 40-man roster spot
