Scouting Report
Updated May 20, 2026
Cubs right-hander Hunter Harvey suffered a setback in his recovery from triceps inflammation, with an MRI revealing a stress reaction in his triceps area. He will be out of action for at least another month and is expected to be moved to the 60-day IL. Harvey has already missed over a month of action since his last game on April 8. This continues a career pattern of injury issues - Harvey has only pitched 189 innings over 186 games since his 2019 debut. In 2025, he pitched just 10 2/3 innings with the Royals due to a teres major strain and Grade 2 adductor strain. The Cubs signed him to a one-year, $6.5MM deal, but he posted a 6.75 ERA over four innings before the triceps issue arose.
