Scouting Report
Updated May 20, 2026
Emmanuel Rodriguez, 23-year-old Twins outfield prospect (No. 4 ranked), suffered a UCL tear in his left thumb requiring surgery after a headfirst slide into first base on May 14, 2026. Initially diagnosed as day-to-day thumb sprain, MRI revealed UCL tear necessitating surgical intervention. This marks his seventh injury since professional debut five years ago, with recurring thumb issues (right thumb surgery in 2024, left thumb issues in 2025). Prior to injury, Rodriguez was performing exceptionally well in Triple-A St. Paul with .247/.417/.506 slash line (.923 OPS), 6 home runs, 18 RBI in 25 games with two of the hardest-hit balls in the Twins organization. Expected return mid-to-late June at earliest.
