Pedro Ramirez, 22-year-old Venezuelan infielder for the Iowa Cubs (Triple-A), has had an exceptional early 2026 season. Named International League Player of the Month for April, he posted a .312/.381/.584 slash line with a .965 OPS, 8-9 home runs, and 10-11 stolen bases. He's ranked #98 in MLB Pipeline's Top 100 prospects and #3 among Cubs prospects by Fangraphs. Known primarily for his defense (2025 minor league Gold Glove), Ramirez has impressed with a power surge during spring training and into the regular season. Cubs manager Craig Counsell praised his baseball intelligence and predicted he'll be a good big leaguer. He's split time between third base and second base.
