Scouting Report

Updated May 20, 2026

Peyton Gray is a 30-year-old journeyman right-handed pitcher who recently made his MLB debut with the Texas Rangers on April 23, 2026. After going undrafted out of Florida Gulf Coast in 2018 and being released by multiple organizations, Gray signed a minor league deal with the Rangers for 2025 and was re-signed for 2026. He exceeded expectations in spring training and was called up to the majors. Gray did not allow a run in his first four appearances and had an 18-inning scoreless streak (including 12 scoreless innings in Triple-A) before May 7, 2026. On May 7, Gray took a line drive off his right wrist from Ryan McMahon in the eighth inning, causing a large welt and bloody abrasion. X-rays showed no fracture, but recovery time is uncertain. He was pulled from the game and his scoreless streak ended when he allowed a run in the seventh inning.
