Logan Webb, 29-year-old Giants right-hander and two-time All-Star (2024-2025), placed on 15-day IL with right knee bursitis. Webb is struggling significantly in 2026 with a 2-4 record, 5.06 ERA, 1.39 WHIP across 8 starts (48 IP). Advanced metrics are concerning: 8th percentile hard-hit rate, 33rd percentile xwOBA, 20.2% K-rate (below average), 7.2% BB-rate. Expected to return when eligible on May 21 with minimum IL stay. This marks his first IL stint in 5 years (since 2021). Questions emerging about whether his best days may be behind him after back-to-back 200+ inning seasons and World Baseball Classic participation.
Injury Status: IL-15 -- Right knee bursitis; placed on 15-day IL on May 9, 2026 (retroactive to May 6). Expected to return when eligible on May 21. Minimum IL stay anticipated.
