Scouting Report
Updated May 20, 2026
Edwin Díaz, a three-time All-Star closer signed to a three-year, $69 million deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers in December 2025, was transferred to the 60-day injured list on May 10, 2026. He underwent arthroscopic surgery on April 22, 2026 to remove loose bodies from his right elbow after initially being placed on the 15-day IL on April 20. Díaz is not expected to return until after the All-Star break in mid-July at the earliest. His 2026 debut season was disastrous, posting a 10.50 ERA across seven appearances before the injury, including a particularly poor outing on April 20 against Colorado where he allowed three runs without recording an out.
