Scouting Report
Updated May 20, 2026
Brady Singer, veteran right-hander for the Cincinnati Reds, was hit by a 106-107 mph comebacker just below his right ankle during Tuesday's game against the Washington Nationals. He stayed in the game but showed signs of injury with reduced velocity and allowed three runs on six hits over 3.2 innings. X-rays came back negative. Singer reported feeling better Wednesday and expects to make his next scheduled start Sunday in Cleveland. Manager Terry Francona noted Singer was "real tender" and limping, but the team is hopeful he can avoid the injured list given the Reds' already depleted pitching staff with three key starters already on IL.
