Troy Melton is recovering from an elbow injury and progressing well through his rehab assignment. He has completed multiple rehab starts, advancing from Single-A Lakeland to Triple-A Toledo. In his most recent outing with Toledo, Melton threw 2.0 scoreless innings with 3 strikeouts, 2 hits, and 2 walks while mixing five different pitches (four-seam fastball, cutter, slider, curveball, and splitter). His fastball velocity has been strong, averaging 95.4 mph and topping out at 96.4 mph in earlier appearances. He is expected to make additional rehab starts before being activated from the injured list, with a potential return in late May.
