Steven Cruz, right-handed relief pitcher for the Kansas City Royals, was recalled from Triple-A Omaha on May 8, 2026, after spending time in the majors in early April where he struggled, giving up eight runs across five appearances. Upon his recall, Cruz has shown significant improvement, posting a 6:3 K:BB ratio across 3.2 innings over four appearances. He took a loss on May 16 in extras against the Cardinals after allowing an unearned run on one hit and one walk in 2/3 of an inning. Overall, he has allowed only one run (unearned) in his recent stint and is expected to fill a low-leverage relief role in the Royals bullpen.
