Samuel Aldegheri, a young left-handed pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels, was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake on May 5, 2026, and made his first MLB start of the season on May 6 against the Chicago White Sox. In a spot start, he pitched four innings, allowing two runs on four hits with two walks and zero strikeouts. He had a rough first inning, giving up two runs, but settled down and pitched 3.2 scoreless innings thereafter. Despite throwing only 69 pitches and being in rhythm, he was pulled early, likely due to workload management. He was optioned back to Triple-A the same day after Alek Manoah was activated from the injured list.
