Scouting Report
Updated May 20, 2026
Josh Smith, Texas Rangers second baseman, is on the 10-day injured list with a right glute strain (since May 4) and has developed wrist inflammation that will delay his rehab program. Originally eligible to return May 15, the wrist issue will push his return date back by at least a few days. Prior to his IL placement, Smith was slashing .217/.324/.239 with 2 steals and 6 RBI across 108 plate appearances in 31 games. Backup infielders Ezequiel Duran and Justin Foscue have been filling in, with Duran performing well (.308/.387/.577 in last 7 games).
