Scouting Report
Updated May 19, 2026
Ben Rice, Yankees first baseman and one of the team's most consistent hitters, suffered a left-hand contusion on Sunday after misjudging a pickoff throw from Max Fried. He has been sidelined for three consecutive days but is expected to remain day-to-day rather than requiring an IL stint. Manager Aaron Boone indicated Rice felt better and may be available as a reserve. Rice has been exceptional this season, hitting .342 with a 1.214 OPS, 12 home runs, and 27 RBIs in 33 games, serving as the team's batting leader alongside Aaron Judge.
