Scouting Report
Updated May 20, 2026
Colt Emerson, 20-year-old top prospect (No. 6 overall), was called up by the Seattle Mariners in May 2026 to make his MLB debut against the San Diego Padres. The shortstop/third baseman signed a record $95 million, 8-year contract extension in March 2026 before making his debut. In his debut, he went 0-for-2 with a walk and scored a run. In his second game, he hit a three-run homer for his first career hit in a 6-1 victory over the White Sox. Prior to his call-up, Emerson was playing Triple-A ball with Tacoma, posting a .255 average with .816 OPS, 7 homers, 8 doubles and 26 RBIs. He had experienced a 10-game slump earlier in the season after missing time with a wrist injury in April, but showed signs of breaking out with a 3-hit, 3-RBI game before his promotion.
