Clay Holmes, New York Mets starting pitcher, was placed on the 15-day injured list after suffering a fractured right fibula on May 9, 2026, when struck by a 111 mph line drive off the bat of Yankees outfielder Spencer Jones. Holmes will be shut down from all baseball activities for 6-8 weeks, followed by an additional ramp-up period similar to Spring Training (approximately 4-6 weeks).
