Jeremy Pena (Houston Astros shortstop) is recovering from a Grade 1 right hamstring strain suffered in April 2026. He was sidelined for over a month and began a minor-league rehab assignment at Double-A Corpus Christi. During his rehab, he suffered a collision with a baserunner on Tuesday, resulting in minor neck soreness. He was expected to resume his rehab assignment by Friday. Before the injury, Pena went 11-for-43 (.256) in 10 games with 5 runs and 1 stolen base. In 2025, he was a first-time All-Star, slashing .304/.363/.477 with an .840 OPS, 17 homers, 62 RBI, 20 steals, and 68 runs in 125 games. He is rostered in 80% of Yahoo leagues and will be the Astros' starting shortstop upon return, especially with Carlos Correa out for the season.
