Scouting Report
Updated May 19, 2026
Kervin Castro, a 27-year-old right-handed reliever, has been recalled by the New York Yankees from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Castro last appeared in MLB during the 2022 season with the Giants and Cubs, where he posted a 10.22 ERA over 12.1 innings. In Triple-A this season, he has shown significant improvement with a 3.14 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, and 10 strikeouts over 14.1 innings. The Yankees selected him in the Rule 5 draft in December 2023 and added him to their 40-man roster in November to prevent minor league free agency. He is being called up to provide fresh bullpen depth as the Yankees continue to shuffle their relief pitching staff.
