Scouting Report
Updated May 19, 2026
Addison Barger, 26-year-old Toronto Blue Jays right fielder/third baseman, has had a disastrous 2026 season marked by recurring injuries. After missing 30 games with bilateral ankle sprains, he was reinstated on May 9, 2026, but his return lasted only one game. On May 10, he woke up with right elbow soreness and was scratched from the lineup. An MRI revealed right elbow inflammation, likely caused by an explosive 101.2 mph throw to home plate during his return game. He was placed back on the 10-day IL on May 12. Barger started the season with a .045 batting average (1-for-19) and .305 OPS in 28 plate appearances before the ankle injuries sidelined him. Despite strong 2025 performance (21 HR, 74 RBIs, .765 OPS), his 2026 campaign has been plagued by injuries and poor offensive production.
