Summary
Roman Anthony, 21-year-old Red Sox outfielder, suffered a right hand sprain (sprained ligament under right ring finger) during his first at-bat on May 4, 2026 against Detroit. Initially listed as day-to-day, he was placed on the 10-day IL retroactive to May 5. Anthony is optimistic about returning immediately after the IL stint ends (eligible May 15).
