Scouting Report: Chandler Redmond
Chicago Cubs | 1B
Overall
Summary
Chandler Simpson, Tampa Bay Rays outfielder, exited Monday's game against Toronto Blue Jays in the eighth inning due to a leg cramp. Prior to exiting, Simpson delivered an excellent performance: 3-for-5 with three runs scored and two stolen bases. Manager Kevin Cash provided an optimistic injury update, indicating strength tests were good and the issue appears to be minor cramping rather than a serious injury. Simpson was already scheduled to rest Tuesday against a left-handed pitcher. The Rays are on a nine-game winning streak and Simpson has become an increasingly valuable part of their lineup.
Strengths
- Excellent offensive performance before injury (3-for-5, 3 runs, 2 SB)
- Strength tests showed encouraging results
