Summary
Ryan O'Hearn, Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder/first baseman, was placed on the 10-day injured list with a moderate right quadriceps strain. The injury occurred during a game against Philadelphia on May 16, 2026, when O'Hearn collided with batter Bryson Stott while catching a pop-up. He reported feeling his leg "grabbing" when attempting more than a walk or slow jog. An MRI confirmed the strain near the hip flexor area. Pirates GM Ben Cherington estimates O'Hearn will miss approximately four weeks. O'Hearn had been one of Pittsburgh's key offseason acquisitions and a top offensive contributor, batting .289 with 7 home runs and 29 RBIs through 44 games. Jake Mangum was activated from the IL to replace him.
