Summary
Raisel Iglesias, 36-year-old veteran closer for the Atlanta Braves, was placed on the 15-day IL on April 21, 2026 with right shoulder inflammation after sleeping on it wrong. An MRI showed no structural damage. After re-signing with the Braves on a one-year, $16 million deal, Iglesias had gotten off to a strong start with 5 saves while pitching 8⅔ scoreless innings with 11 strikeouts and only 1 walk before the injury. He was reinstated from the IL on May 5, 2026, and will reclaim the closer job from Robert Suarez. The Braves hold the best record in MLB at 25-11.
