Josh Smith, Texas Rangers second baseman, was placed on the 10-day IL on May 4, 2026 due to a right glute strain. During his rehab process, he developed left wrist inflammation. On May 8, Smith was hospitalized with viral meningitis and is expected to remain hospitalized for 7-10 days.
