Summary
Juan Soto fouled a ball off his right foot/ankle in the third inning of Wednesday's game against the Detroit Tigers. X-rays came back negative. He remained in the game initially but was removed in the seventh inning. Manager Carlos Mendoza confirmed he is day-to-day. This is Soto's second injury setback of the season after missing two weeks with a calf strain earlier. Through 26 games, Soto has posted a .271 batting average, .366 OPS, 4 home runs and 11 RBIs. He recently was moved to leadoff by Mendoza and hit his first career leadoff home run. The Mets are dealing with multiple injuries to key players including Francisco Lindor and Francisco Alvarez.
