Summary
Steven Matz, 34-year-old left-handed pitcher for the Tampa Bay Rays, was placed on the 15-day injured list on May 5, 2026 (retroactive to May 4) with left elbow inflammation. The injury came unexpectedly after Matz had delivered two consecutive quality starts, including a strong performance against the Giants on Sunday where he pitched six innings of one-run ball. Matz is 4-1 with a 3.86 ERA through seven starts in his first season with Tampa Bay.
