Summary
Naoyuki Uwasawa (32), a pitcher for the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks, has been placed on the injured list due to right elbow conditioning issues. He had pre-season concerns about his right elbow and was removed from his May 15 start against the Rakuten Eagles after just 3 innings with 4 runs allowed. After visiting a hospital on May 16, he was transferred to the rehabilitation group on May 17. Manager Yuki Kokubo stated that immediate return would be difficult and the team should prepare for his extended absence. Uwasawa is currently undergoing no-throw rehabilitation at the Hawks' farm facility in Chikugo, Fukuoka, with hopes to return to peak condition.
