27-year-old LHP Raymond Burgos signed a minor league deal with the Boston Red Sox on May 7, 2026, after playing for Guerreros de Oaxaca in the Mexican League. The Puerto Rican lefty was previously with the San Francisco Giants organization and made his MLB debut in 2024 (1 appearance). He performed well for Team Puerto Rico in the 2026 World Baseball Classic (2.45 ERA in 3.2 IP) but struggled with Oaxaca (5.25 ERA in 12 IP). Burgos is a 6'5" lanky lefthander who has spent 7 seasons in minor league systems (Cleveland Guardians and San Francisco Giants organizations). He will join Triple-A Worcester as depth in the bullpen.
