Oscar Mercado was released by the Philadelphia Phillies from their Triple-A affiliate Lehigh Valley IronPigs in May 2026. Mercado signed a minor-league deal with the Phillies in March 2026 after posting a .242/.265/.333 slash line in preseason with the Arizona Diamondbacks. In 2025, he had a solid season with the IronPigs, batting .249/.369/.373 with 40 stolen bases. However, in 2026, his performance deteriorated significantly, batting just .141 with 1 hit in 6 at-bats (.262 OBP, .183 SLG) across 24 games.
