Scouting Report: Zach Lewis
Chicago White Sox | RP
Overall
Summary
Royce Lewis, the Twins' former No. 1 overall draft pick (2017), has been demoted to Triple-A after a rough return from a sprained left knee. Since returning from the injured list on April 21, Lewis has struggled significantly, batting .132 with a 34% strikeout rate, 1 home run, and 5 RBIs over 68 plate appearances. Before the injury, he was hitting .222 with an .822 OPS in 12 games. The demotion is part of the Twins' effort to have Lewis refine his swing and regain form at the minor league level. His career has been plagued by injuries, limiting him to just 12 games in his rookie year and affecting his ability to remain productive over a full season.
