Scouting Report: Juan Brito

Cleveland Guardians | SS

A

Overall

Summary

Juan Brito was called up by the Cleveland Guardians in early April after Gabriel Arias' injury and showed initial promise with 5 hits in his first 3 games. However, he struggled at the MLB level (.176 BA, 45 wRC+) and was optioned to Triple-A Columbus in late April. Since being optioned, Brito has demonstrated exceptional performance in the minors, hitting .267/.377/.600 with a .977 OPS and 150 wRC+ over 11 games. He has recorded 4 home runs, 3 doubles, and 14 RBIs during this stretch. Guardians' assistant GM Matt Forman praised Brito's mindset and approach to his demotion, noting that he has taken the lessons from his MLB experience and applied them to his development. The organization expects Brito to earn another opportunity in the majors sooner than expected.
