Joey Loperfido (Houston Astros outfielder) has been sidelined with a right quadriceps strain since mid-April 2026. As of early May, he has begun light running and light baseball activities as part of his recovery progression. Manager Joe Espada cleared him for baseball activity on April 20, and by May 5-11, Loperfido was continuing to progress through running and baseball drills. However, he remains without a clear timetable for return to game action. The Astros have been utilizing Zach Cole and Dustin Harris as primary left field options during his absence.
