Summary
Blake Snell, the Dodgers' two-time Cy Young Award winner, has been sidelined indefinitely with loose bodies in his left elbow. After missing the first six weeks of the 2026 season with left shoulder fatigue and inflammation, Snell made his season debut on May 9 against the Atlanta Braves, allowing four earned runs over three innings. However, just six days later on May 15, he was scratched from his scheduled start after detecting the new elbow injury during catch play. Snell underwent elbow surgery on May 21 performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, with the possibility of using the advanced "NanoNeedle" procedure that could significantly reduce recovery time compared to the standard two to three month prognosis. Manager Dave Roberts has expressed optimism about Snell's return during the 2026 regular season.
