Summary

Cal Raleigh, Seattle Mariners catcher and 2025 AL MVP runner-up, has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a right oblique strain. The injury was initially sustained in early May and reaggravated on May 13 during a game against Houston. MRI imaging showed the injury was similar or slightly improved from previous scans. The team plans a week-long shutdown from baseball activities followed by PRP injection treatment at the Mariners' facility in Peoria, Arizona. This is Raleigh's first IL stint in his six-year MLB career. The injury comes during a historically poor offensive season where Raleigh is hitting .161 (second-lowest in MLB among qualified hitters) with a .559 OPS after an 0-for-38 hitless streak that was only broken the night before the reaggravation.

Strengths
