Summary
Trevor Megill has dramatically turned around his 2026 season after a rough start. Following a blown save on April 14 with a 14.40 ERA in his first six appearances, Megill has been dominant since April 16, allowing just one earned run over nine outings with an 11-to-2 K-BB ratio. He has collected five saves and multiple holds while serving as a productive setup man. Despite diminished fastball velocity (96.9 mph vs. 99 mph in 2025), Megill has reinvented himself by working around the velocity loss, posting excellent strikeout rates (33.3% since 4/16) and walk rates (6.1%). His ERA estimators (xERA, FIP, SIERA) all sit below 2.50 since mid-April, indicating legitimate dominance rather than luck.
