Minnesota Twins | CF

Overall

Summary

Emmanuel Rodriguez, 23-year-old Twins outfield prospect (No. 4 prospect, MLB No. 64), suffered a left thumb UCL tear requiring surgery after a headfirst slide into first base on May 1, 2026. Initially day-to-day with a thumb sprain, an MRI revealed a UCL tear necessitating surgery. This is his seventh injury since professional debut five years ago, with recurring thumb issues (right thumb surgery in 2024, left thumb ailment in 2025). Prior to injury, Rodriguez was performing well at Triple-A St. Paul with a .247/.417/.506 slash line (.923 OPS), 6 home runs, 18 RBI in 25 games with two of the hardest-hit balls in the Twins organization. Durability concerns are mounting as he has never played 100 games in a single season professionally.

Strengths

  • Excellent power production (.506 slugging percentage)
  • Strong on-base skills (.417 OBP with 21.3% walk rate)
