Scouting Report: Rowan Wick
San Francisco Giants | RP
Overall
Summary
Jordan Wicks, Chicago Cubs left-handed pitcher, is recovering from a left forearm radial nerve irritation suffered in late February. He was placed on the 15-day IL before the regular season and began rehab assignments on April 18. While his first two rehab starts showed promise (3 scoreless innings and 2⅔ scoreless innings respectively), his last two outings have been concerning. Against Triple-A St. Paul on April 28 and Sunday, Wicks allowed 12 runs over 5⅔ innings with poor advanced metrics ranking in the bottom 15% among Triple-A pitchers (.379 xwOBA, .305 xBA, .526 xSLG, 13.6% barrel rate, 13.8% K%, 82.6% zone-swing rate). His recent struggles suggest a delayed return to MLB competition.
Strengths
- Made significant progress from forearm injury
