Scouting Report: Tekoah Roby
St Louis Cardinals | SP
Overall
Summary
Kyle Teel, Chicago White Sox catcher, suffered a hamstring strain during the 2026 World Baseball Classic in early March with an initial 4-6 week recovery projection. After over 8 weeks of rehabilitation, he began running the bases as a test and was cleared to start a minor-league rehab assignment. However, during his rehab assignment, Teel suffered a knee ligament sprain that has sidelined him for an additional 3-6 weeks. The injury setback is particularly frustrating given his strong rookie 2025 season (.273/.375/.411, 8 HR, 35 RBI in 78 games). The White Sox have struggled without him, with backup catcher Edgar Quero batting .154 with a .419 OPS.
Strengths
- Strong rookie season credentials (.273/.375/.411 with .786 OPS)
- Cleared hamstring injury enough to begin rehab assignment
