Summary

Troy Melton is a Detroit Tigers pitcher recovering from elbow inflammation sustained during spring training. He has progressed through a structured rehab assignment, starting at Single-A Lakeland and advancing to Triple-A Toledo. In his rehab starts, Melton has demonstrated excellent stuff with multiple pitches (fastball, cutter, slider, curveball, splitter), strong velocity (95-99 mph), and impressive strikeout rates. His first rehab outing showed 1.2 IP with 3 K's; his second featured 3 perfect innings with 5 K's on just 27 pitches; his third showed 2.0 IP with 2 H, 2 BB, 3 K. Command has been inconsistent during rehab but improving. Expected to make at least one more rehab start before activation in late May 2026.
