Scouting Report: Daulton Varsho
Toronto Blue Jays | CF
Overall
Summary
Daulton Varsho, 29-year-old Toronto Blue Jays outfielder, has shown significant improvement after a slow start to the 2026 season. After slumping to a .236/.314/.390 slash line with 4 HRs through May 8, Varsho has since returned to form with a .353/.405/.559 slash line. He recently delivered a walk-off grand slam in the 10th inning against Tampa Bay on May 14, his fifth home run of the season. Varsho has increased his contact rate to 83.6% (up from 71.7% last season) and is performing particularly well against right-handed pitching. He suffered a left knee injury earlier in the season but has remained largely healthy. Manager John Schneider praised his effort after a hard collision into the center field wall, confirming he is "good" following the impact. Varsho is an impending free agent and has been one of the few reliable offensive presences for the struggling Blue Jays.
Strengths
- Walk-off grand slam performance under pressure
