Josh Smith, Texas Rangers second baseman, is currently on the 10-day injured list due to a right glute strain sustained on May 4, 2026. During his rehabilitation, he developed a wrist inflammation issue that will delay his return by at least a few days beyond the initial May 15 eligibility date. Prior to his IL placement, Smith was struggling offensively, slashing .217/.324/.239 with 2 steals and 6 RBI across 108 plate appearances in 31 games. The 28-year-old has been replaced at second base by Ezequiel Duran and Justin Foscue, who have performed well in his absence.
